Description of project:
A production facility for Novartis was constructed in Tongi, an industrial city north of the capital, Dhaka, with demanding environmental conditions.
Demanding environmental conditions, including high outside temperatures and extreme humidity, demand a special kind of building management system to achieve constant conditions for production purposes.
Task:
Following an outline plan for the rooms, Sauter in Basel was commissioned to install a complete heating, air conditioning and ventilation control system for the clean rooms, in addition to a control system for the central air treatment/purification units for the production areas.
A dual-circuit VAV system was chosen to keep room temperature and humidity conditions as constant as possible. A cascade control on the return air side was installed to limit room pressure.
A monitoring system for room air parameters based on the EY3600 novaPro Open building management system was installed so production would be ready for GMP (good manufacturing practice) certification.
The monitoring system collects and stores parameters, thus ensuring the traceability of production conditions. For safety reasons, this installation was not fitted with control tasks.
